Sixt took and confirmed a reservation for a 9 passenger van for March 3, 2004 in Venice, Italy. I was with a group of 7 people, all counting on making it to Rome after a comfortable day's drive from Venice. We showed up promptly at 9AM, the time designated on my reservation. Upon presentation of the confirmation, the attendant, obviously untrained in these matters, announced that they had no cars, let alone a van, and my best option was to go to the Airport to get a vehicle, at least a 2 hour diversion. He offered no other assistance, no phone calls, no arrangements with other rental agencies. I called the toll free number, they apologized in a defensive response and advised me that they had no cars in Venice. I knew that. Corresondence following the vacation resulted in no response from Sixt. Errors happen, and all travelers may expect occasional inconveiences, but Sixt underperformed in monumental arrogance in this case. Sixt merits your highest disdain. Avoid Sixt whenever possible. ![]() Return to Italy Travel Page Return to Homepage This page maintained by: Gary Feuerstein |
