ILLUMINATION A series of special lamps exalt the panorama PISA. A special illumination of the path will lead visitors up to bell cell, a simple installation designed by a commercial artisan. The 294 stairs that carry visitors to the summit of the leaning tower have been illuminated at those points in which the visibility is limited even in the daytime. For the rest, it is known, the monument takes light from the openings at each level, once open to the public without any special protections at the outside. Now the entire path will be illuminated to allow the climb at night, while the top of the tower, the bell cell, will be illuminated by special lamps whose position has been carefully selected in a way that does not detract from the marvelous sight of the city from that height. The illumination will also be made in a way to allow video and photographic images, for those interested. It will be a spectacle particularly on the night of the Luminaria, when all the city is lighted only by the small "lumini" that for centuries, by tradition, signals the eve of the festivities of the holy patron saint San Ranieri. |
