Easter Sunday - 1500 Get on the Tower Traffic Backed up Three Kilometers for a Bus Stalled on the Imperial Bridge PISA. Hordes of tourists in plaza of the Miracles. Making an assault on the Tower. In the days of Easter and Pasquetta, almost 1500 tourists have climbed to the top of the bell tower. And another tens of thousands have visited the piazza and the vendor stalls. As always, in these days, the museums have also beem worked to a full schedule. And the municipal police are due to intervene in Piazza Manin plaza to remove the vagrants. A sea of tourists, as was anticipated, has invaded Piazza dei Miracoli. The eighteen daily climbs programmed for the Tower, each with 40 available places, had been filled Sunday. And an uncounted number of people have entered the Cathedral and the Baptistery. Many have explored the artistic treasures preserved in our museums. And while the tourists arrived in crowds, the forces of order have worked without rest. Services in uniform and in plain clothes hold the crowds under control, especially the nomads disseminated from the Parking Area near Pietrasantina up to the Plaza Cocco Griffi. We don't know if any tourist has been pickpocketed, but the controls were very intense. The police yesterday morning are due to intervene in Piazza Manin where one group of foreigners was placed to sell various objects. The urban officers have removed them without any consequence. And the sun and temperature decidedly spring-like have made a day where a walk outside was very pleasant. Many Pisans have preferred the country or a simple walk to Tirrenia and Marina. And the usual lines to reenter, notably a long one from Aurelia in the evening: a good three kilometers long because of a foreign bus that had stalled on the Imperial Bridge in the direction of Viareggio.
