"The Tower is a True Symbol of Peace"

The American actress Clarissa Burt confided with "Il Tirreno"

PISA. "The meaning of this Plaza with the reborn Tower, today offers a meaning much more than universal communion", expressed actress Clarissa Burt with simplicity and conviction in the course of her visit to San Silvestre and the celebrated monument.

"Despite twenty years of Italian visits", the actress goes on, "I had never had the opportunity to stop in this place. In truth, I have to admit that I never raelly had the desire to get on the Tower. She has been strongly motivated by reading the work of Oriana Fallaci "The Anger and The Pride" where many times the Tower is referenced as a symbol of peace and communion. A communion that today, as Fallaci provocatively states, does not admit political factiousness in the personal appointment if one wants to reach and maintain the true meaning of the word peace".

She speaks like an old friend, Clarissa, simple in her ways, simple in her dress, that is why she is more fascinating than she could appear in pages of magazines that in recent times have devoted quite ample space to her frantic appointment as "ambassador" of peace. An appointment that does not confine her to the major celebrity "runways" (at night, she participates in the school dance organized by "Boccaccio" patron Idilio Pellinacci and by the "super director" Roby Achilli) as she also descends up to the soul of society, as, before her arrival at Pisa, the actress had wanted to visit the jail prisoners at Mass in the company of the undersecretary of Communication, Massimo Baldini with whom she has shared the ascent of the 295 steps that have conducted then up to Bell Cell of the work of Bonanno Pisano.

"Beautiful" the actress has exclaimed, the statement directed to a friend who at the moment telephoned it to the USA. The attitude of an enthusiastic tourist, and also a little bit surprised, as seeing "a marriage between history, art, nature and environment that has no equal in the world".

The enthusiasm is also shared by Senator Baldini, (who has not been on the Tower since his time at the university) particularly busy in society, despite the many obligations demanded by his ministry, and fresh from the delegation to restructure public radiotelevision. Precisely on this delicate matter, the senator has wanted to release a preview to our newspaper. "So much expense, too many words, have been spent on the malfunction and the bad management of RAI. Today finally the new Government has the possibility to show with the facts that optimizing the technical and human resources frees the progrmaming from political resistances as much as possible, and a service will occur again that allows the more television near to the demands of the citizens and in footstep with the times. And it is in this direction that I will focus all my appointment".
