  The Piazza dei Miracoli and the Other Monuments are Assaulted. PISA, 2 April - During the festivities of Easter, tourists at Pisa have not been missing: 10,363 on March 30, 11,056 the day of Easter and 9,810 on Easter Monday, visited Piazza dei Miracoli and its monuments (Cathedral, old Cemetery, baptistery and museums). And the Leaning Tower has been open to the tourists: it is the first Easter, after 12 years of restoration and closing to the public, even if the access been restricted by rigid safety dispositions. March 30 it was open to 540 people, March 31 and April 1 to 640 people. And the Tower of Santa Maria has taken an assault by a good 2500 tourists between March 25 and 31. (News2000) |
