MAYOR PAUL FONTANELLI:
"And we will put on a plate of grand cultural events"

Yes to the fireworks for the end of the year, but nothing for the Luminara

by Ser. Pa.

PISA. "And at the moment that we "pull the string," we will try to make our city more open, more attractive and more pleasant with the Christmas festivities and the end of the year".

With these words, mayor Paul Fontanelli has closed the press conference presenting the initiatives for Christmas that the Commune has planned, saying yet: "Surely, we will have an exceptional "drawing" with the reopening of the Tower, we therefore anticpate, as is forecast by the tourist operators, diverse citizens and diverse tourists who have chosen to stay in Italy for the Christmases vacations.

We will be under "international reflection" for the reopening of the Tower event. We will offer a pleasant and attractive city. We will put on the "plate" of culture Lanfranchi Palace, with the Show "Homage to Timpanaro" (it will also be open for Christmas), the Guelfa Tower will be open, the church of the Spina, and the Roman Ships, by now itself an attraction of great demand".

Therefore, for Paul Fontanelli, Pisa has a good possibility to be visited by great numbers of tourists, "starving" for art and culture, as a notable effort has been made to maintain as much as possible, attractive events in our city.

"Also the fireworks- fantastical some say", adds Fontanelli, "have become an event to see, not to miss, the shine of our River Arno is an unbelievable attraction, we will exploit it fully. The city, however, as assessor Viale has already said, presents itself in different manner, more "cleaning up" with new paving and the new public illumination of the pedestrian axis Corso Italia and Borgo Largo, therefore more pleasant. If the dealers will do their part, to stay open up to 10, 11, or 12 midnight, with parking free from 8:00 PM, it should be a pleasant city able to "sell" well".

Then, with a budget of minimal expense, with the help of a sponsor that has never denied a partnership for cultural and artistic events of Pisa, perhaps, for this Christmas and Year End, Pisa will be able to receive and "greet" well the visitors who will choose our city.
