Major support for the Bocelli Concert of June 17

An Initiative of Solidarity for the Foundation of Professor Mosca Promises to be a Super Event

The Tower (Punto Reflex)
PISA. June 17 at the hour of 21.30 (9:30 PM), is set for the conclusion of the celebrations for redelivery of the Leaning Tower to Humanity, an event of international consequence that will honor Pisa. To make the day of St. Ranieri, patron of the city, unforgettbale, the Harp Foundation has organized a large classical concert by Andrew Bocelli, who is the honorary president of the Foundation.

The Harp, born of an initiative by professor Franco Mosca, is a non-profit organization whose end is that of support for medical research and healthiness in general.

The name of Bocelli, therefore, eternally associated with the magic of music, becomes synonymous with the Harp Foundation, promoting a major beneficial promotion.

The special plan for donations that allows the concert to be presented, will be made available for purchase at the box office, a detailed organization that covers all Italy through a vast net of shops, and that also allows acquisition around the world. The noble purpose of the demonstration, and the exceptional scheduled cast, have in fact made it so that the demand for participation has reached impressive numbers even before the event has been given the proper advertising.

Support and requests have come from all over Europe, as well as America, Australia and even Sri Lankan; someone wants to bring her husband to the concert as a birthday gift, another wants to reward a child for a graduation, others who come to Pisa for a honeymoon on the occassion of the reopening of the Tower and the Bocelli concert. The majority of the hotels are already full, and there is one who offered to translate the site of the Foundation (www.arpafund.org) into German, and to carry a harp of his own from Germany as a solicitation for donations.

In short, the festivity of solidarity is initiated and it seems normal that the event engages proportions so vast, if it is considered that the only other concerts that Andrea Bocelli will hold in Europe this year, besides Pisa, are those in London and Dublin.

The extraordinary artistic cast that will accompany Andrea Bocelli include artists such as Cecilia Gasdia, Manuela Custer and Max Fichera, along with the participation of the Choir of the Academy of Saint Cecilia and the accompaniment of the Toscanini Orchestra of Parma, directed by maestro Marcello Rota. Displays of light and projections of images will make the atmosphere of the concertstill more dynamic, along with numerous national and international acts.

Therefore, the "Pisan June", a season that characteristically attracts a variety of performacnes, this year will be particularly rich. Beyond the concert of Bocelli, in fact, will finally come the reopening of the Leaning Tower, after more than eleven years of work, put in safety by the consolidation of its foundations. Thanks to the excellent work performed in these years by the Committee for the Safeguard of the Tower, presided over by professor Michele Jamiolkowski, the inclination of the Tower has been reduced by about 40 centimeters, allowing for the reopening and the enjoyment of the numerous tourists that each day crowd the Piazza dei Miracoli.

The ceremony to redeliver the Tower to the public, scheduled for June 16 at 16.30 (4:30 PM), will be accompanied by a historical procession, which will be followed by an exhibition by the Police Band.
