NEW YORK (April 3, 1999 12:39 a.m. EST http://www.nandotimes.com) - A man trying to climb the Brooklyn Bridge as part of a stunt slipped from a cable and fell 500 feet to his death Friday. Robert Landetta, 27, of Brooklyn, had scaled two-thirds of the bridge before he fell onto a street below. He was pronounced dead at the scene. Police said Landetta told a photographer on the bridge that he was aiming to set a world record by climbing five bridges in four hours. The Brooklyn Bridge was his first.
